Slow Time

Step gently, step slowly… The race of life is not always won by the fastest runner

Slow time, slow time, be so soft and gentle… Build strong, build strong… Take your time and see it through.

Goals like gardens take time to grow, but without the push to get them going they fade like ashes tossed into the wind.

Just remember that life is a journey, not a destination to find or a prize to be won. Be in the moment, not of the time it takes to do something.

Blink

Blink and then it’s gone… That one moment you’ve been waiting for, when all the stars align and point to the direct path you’re meant to follow.

Blink and then it’s gone… The time you spend with friends and family, taken when fate has other plans and calls them to the heavens above.

Blink and then it’s gone… Your life, mired in regrets, lost chances and what ifs, lost in doubt and facing uncertainty. How will you find the way back to what you lost when the whole world is passing you by.

Blink and then it’s gone… The chance you could have had to be someone’s guiding light, to be a friend, to be a helping hand.

Time passes in the blink of  an eye and that moment becomes the past.

Drumbeat

Soft gentle beat of a small hollow drum, ticking gently like a clock I see on a wall far away… Draining slowly, melting quickly, flowing sounds like running water…

The mirror shows too many faces, and not even one reminds me of me… Drip, drip drip goes the last of the water as I try to wash the blood from the back of my hand… I look up one more time and the mirror still shows me too many faces.

Tick, tick, tick… Beat, beat beat… The sound of the drum, so soft and hollow, beating in the place where a heart used to live.

Why so soft and empty, so red and hurting? What have I done?

The mirror still shows me too many faces and not all of them are mine.
